Mi-juillet. Kathleen et Elizabeth sont de retour - aux chateaux! . Kathleen and Elizabeth are back. Off to see chateaux.

Depuis une vingtaine d'années, ma sœur Kathleen et sa fille Elizabeth viennent nous voir. (Parfois, son mari Vince et son fils Alex restent à la maison et s’occupent à leurs occupations. Cette année, ils se rendent à un mariage en Irlande, ce qui entre en conflit avec l'emploi du temps de Kathleen. Alors, je leur ai dit de revenir. Et elles sont revenues.)

For about 20 years, my sister Kathleen, and her daughter, Elizabeth have been coming to see us. (sometimes husband Vince and son Alex stay home and do their thing.) This year they are off to a wedding in Ireland that conflicts with Kathleen’s teaching timetable. So, I said, you must come back. And they did.   

BEYNAC

Quand j’ai demande Elizabeth ce qu’elle voulait voir, sans surprise, Ç’est Beynac, qu’elle a vu pour la première fois quand elle avait 6 ans. Donc, pour la énième fois, je suis partie avec elles a Beynac.

When i asked Elizabeth what she wanted to see, it wasn’t a surprise when she said ‘Beynac’ that she saw for the first time when she was 6. So, for the umpteenth time, off we went to Beynac.

SALIGNAC 

Salignac, pas loin de chez nous, est ouvert depuis 5 ans, mais il y a toujours beaucoup a faire !

Salignac is not far from us, but its château, open for 5 years, still has lots to do.

 

A l’époque, les murs étaient colorés, et les propriétaires ont décidés de les refaire comme a l’origine.

Originally the walls were coloured, and the owners decided to redo them as they would have been.
