Chaque année les villages de Carlux, St Julien, et
Calviac, commémorent le massacre du 8 juin 1944, quand. Aujourd’hui c’est le 70e
anniversaire. Très émouvant. Le village de 38 personnes a été décimé par le
bataillon SS Der Führer de la colonne Das Reich, qui en ont tue 18, et ont
brulé le village.
Each year the three
villages of Carlux, St. Julien, and Calviac commemorate the massacre that
occurred 8th June 1944, when the village was decimated by the SS
Der Führer battalion of the Das Reich division.
Eighteen people were killed, of whom only 2 were resistance fighters –
the others included women and children.
The same division was responsible for other atrocities in Tulle, and
above all, in Oradour sur Glane, where the entire village -over 650 people- was killed.
