1994-2014 20 ans a Carlux

Le Fournil en fête! 80 personnes chez nous – et des orages partout.  On est arrivés à Carlux le 10 juin 2014, (avec 2 valises et nos deux chats) mais avec l’attente pour la nouvelle cuisine, les visiteurs, et un calendrier charge à Carlux, il a fallu attendre le 10  aout pour fêter nos vingt ans a Carlux.  Avec beaucoup d’amis.  Et la météo qui s’annonçait mal.  L’ouragan Bertha venait vers la France, et on a subi des orages pendant presque toute la semaine – y inclus la veille de notre fête.   Des inondations, de la grêle, même une tornade tout autour de Carlux. L’après-midi très lourd, beaucoup de vent – et puis, comme magique, du soleil – un temps parfait. 

Les amis arrivaient, le champagne coulait, le soleil brillait.  Et des cadeaux magnifiques : une sculpture ‘en équilibre’ de Christophe Cayla http://christophe.cayla.pagesperso-orange.fr/CAYLA/Bienvenue.html et deux vases d’Anduze.  Parfaits. 

Partying at Le Fournil - 80 people at our house, and storms everywhere.  We arrived in Carlux 10^th June 1994, with 2 suitcases and 2 cats, but with the renovation of the kitchen, and various friends staying with us – plus a full calendar of village festivities, we had to wait until 10^th August to celebrate our 20^th anniversary here.  With lots of friends.  And weather predictions that were terrible.  Hurricane Bertha was heading this way, producing storms all week – including Saturday night.  In fact there were floods to the south, hail to the east, and even a tornado in the north.  It was very humid in the afternoon, followed by strong winds, and then at 5 p.m., like magic the sun came out.  Perfect weather.

Our friends started arriving, champagne flowed, the sun shone.  And with them came several wonderful gifts: a sculpture ‘en équilbre’ by Christophe Cayla http://christophe.cayla.pagesperso-orange.fr/CAYLA/Bienvenue.html , and two pots from Anduze, in the south of France. http://www.vases-anduze.com/ again, perfect.

 Dimanche - les nuages arrivent - et partent.  Sunday, black clouds arrive - and then go!
