We rarely go to Paris, but decided to spend a week there in the middle of June. Mixed weather, too many people/too much noise for us country folk, but still – it is Paris, a lovely city.
We spent an afternoon at the Jardin de Bagatelle, in the Bois de Boulogne, with the roses and clematis – and the weather - at their peak. A sparkling afternoon.

Then a morning at Giverny to see Monet’s garden– along with what seemed like thousands of other tourists and hordes of school children. But still a magical place when (if) you can get away from them.

And of course the buildings are often stunning, from the elegance of the elevators at Bon Marché to the shops on Rue du Bac – and everywhere else.

La Vie - Life in Paris

Life also goes on in Paris, despite the tourists, in the fountains of the Parc Andre Citroen, jogging past the Eiffel Tower, or a Sunday afternoon game in the Marais

Not so lively/Moins de vie
Our first time to Père Lachaise – on a suitably gloomy day.
