Sur la route: Un déjeuner a Vianne. Nous nous sommes perdues – et comme l’heure de déjeuner était presque passée, nous avons cherché un restaurant avec Google maps. En principe, Pizzeria Nino était à Vianne – je ne sais pas où est allé Nino, mais nous avons trouvé plusieurs restaurants sur la place a Vianne. Nous avons choisi ce restaurant pour prendre des salades, au lieu d’un grand repas. Raté. Mais bon.
On the road. Lunch in Vianne. We got lost, and as lunchtime was quickly disappearing, we followed Google maps to (supposedly) Pizzeria Nino. Don’t know where Nino was, but in the main square of Vianne, we found two restaurants. We chose this one because it had salads, rather than a huge meal. Oh well – the salads were good though.

La Gare de Canfranc, un modèle de l’architecture Beaux-Arts, a 365 fenêtres, 156 portes, et une longueur de 240 mètres. Ouverte en 1928, après la construction du tunnel de Somport, elle a souffert à cause d’un incendie, de la guerre, et puis un déraillement qui a détruit un pont, ce qui a provoqué la fermeture de la liaison entre France et Espagne. Récemment, avec une subvention de l’Union Européen, restauration de la gare a commencé, avec l’intention de l’ouvrir comme hôtel
The Station at Canfranc a model of Beaux-Arts architecture, featuring 365 windows and 156 doors, along a length of 240 metres, was opened in 1928 after the construction of the Somport Tunnel. It was a major link between France and Spain, but suffered from a major fire, war, and then a huge derailment, which caused the closure of French-Spanish traffic. With funding from the European Union work has begun on restoration of the station, with the possibility of turning it into a hotel.
