Saragosse - Zaragoza. le 18 septembre La Route de retour par les Pyrénées espagnoles. Home through the Spanish Pyrenees

 Après des achats dans un supermarché espagnol, nous avons repris la route par les Pyrénées espagnoles, une option plus intéressante que celle du tunnel. Photos de l’intérieure de la voiture, pendant que Harry conduisait. 

  
We started the trip home with a stop in a Spanish supermarket, then off through the Spanish Pyrenees, much more interesting than coming through the tunnel. Harry drove and I took photos from inside the car.

Zaragoza. Le Palais de l'Aljaferia

 Le palais de l'Aljaferia est un palais fortifié construit durant la seconde moitié du XI^e siècle, reflète la splendeur de la taïfa de Saragosse au moment de son apogée politique et culturelle.

Avec la mosquée de Cordoue (X^e siècle) et (XIV^e siècle), nous devons inclure dans la triade de l'architecture hispano-musulmane, l'Aljaferia de Saragosse comme parfait exemple de réalisation de l'art taïfa

The Aljafería Palace. a fortified medieval palace built during the second half of the 11th century reflects the splendor attained by the independent Arab Muslim state, or Taifa of Zaragoza at its height. The Aljafería, along with the  mosque at Cordoba, and the Alhambra are three best examples of Hispano-Muslim architecture and have special legal protection

La vie moderne símpose - une bière!  Then back to real life, and  a beer.!

Saragosse/Zaragoza. Du 15 au 17 septembre

Nous avons beaucoup aimé Saragosse, le 5me  ville d’Espagne, située entre Madrid et Barcelone.  Pas beaucoup de touristes, mais des choses a voir, de belles rues, des restaurants, et la météo était bonne.

We really liked Zaragoza, the 5th largest city in Spain, located between Madrid and Barcelona.  Lots to see, lovely streets, restaurants, and the weather was great. 

Le petit-déj en Espagne – nous préférons les croissants en France, mais quand même, quand on a faim…

Breakfast in Spain.  French croissants are better, but, when one is hungry...

La Seo ou cathédrale du Salvador

Elle est construite sur l’ancienne mosquée de la ville, et représente une synthèse de sept siècles d’histoire de l’art, du XIIe au XVIIIe siècle.

il y a  des magnifiques démonstrations d’art gothique, mudéjar, de la Renaissance, baroque et néoclassique. 

In the inner and outer parts of the Cathedral of El Salvador, magnificent displays of Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical art stand out. 

Its historical and artistic importance is reflected in its architecture, decoration and the participation of great artists from different eras, in addition to the relevant historical events that have taken place there.

 La basilique Notre-Dame-du-Pilier ou ‘Pilar’ est un édifice religieux où on  conserve et vénère la colonne, ou pilar sur laquelle la Vierge Marie serait apparue à l'apôtre Jacques le Majeur en 40 apr. J.-C.

The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar or ‘Pilar’ in Spanish  is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of the Pillar, on which the Virgin appeared to Saint  James the Great in 40 CE

Après le tourisme, le récompense – un Apérol spritz, et un Limoncello spritz.

After all the touring, a reward.  Aperol spritz for me, Limoncello spritz for Harry.
