Il y a à peu près 8 000 perroquets à Paris.  There are about 8,000 parrots in the gardens of Paris.

Le 10 octobre: Musée Jacquemart-André.

 Nous aimons beaucoup ce musée, avec les œuvres d’art collectionnés par le banquier et sa femme, artiste.  Et cette fois il y a une exposition d’un autre couple, cette fois danois, qui collectionnaient des tableaux. .  Corot, Cezanne, Matisse, Renoir, Sisley, Morisot.

 Et un cafe gourmand, pas commes les autres. Cafe gourmand is a wonderful invention that usually means coffee with small pastries, but not usually smarties, gummie bears, etc. Good, though

 Une baignoire!  A bathtub!

Depuis quelques années en France, on voit des soldats armés, des gendarmes partout. Un peu moins stressant quand on les voit en rollers. 

 For a few years now we have been used to seeing armed soldiers and gendarmes in France. A little less stressful when they are in rollerblades.

L’après-midi, à la Monnaie de Paris et son musée.  Beau bâtiment, musée intéressant.

In the afternoon, to the Mint, and its museum.  Beautiful building, interesting museum.

Le méridien avant qu’il soit à Greenwich !

Before the Meridian went to Greenwich, it was French!

 Ils travaillent toujours ici.  They still actually work here.

mercredi 11 octobre.

Une matinée magnifique au Grand Palais – l’exposition sur Irving Penn.  Pas de photos de ses œuvres, bien sûr, mais à ne pas manquer.

A wonderful morning at the Grand Palais, at the Irving Penn exhibit, which was magnificent.  No photos of his photography, of course, but not to be missed.

Le Pont Alexandre.

 Encore une fois, typiquement parisien.  La Tour Eiffel, et des nuages.
Again, typically Parisan.  The Eiffel Tower, and lots of clouds.

 Le Centre Culturel Canadien.  Nous cherchions notre culture ailleurs
The Canadian Cultural Centre.  We were looking for our culture somewhere else.

Le Musée Rodin.  The Rodin Museum
