Une journée en ville – a day in town

Bien qu’on dise souvent que nous allons au «Cap» à l'hiver, en fait, nous restons à Gordon’s Bay, à environ 40 minutes du centre de la ville, et va rarement en ville. Trop de circulation, trop peu de stationnement. Mais parfois, on décide de partager un peu de culture. Alors dimanche on est allés au musée sud-africaine voir l'exposition Photographie World Wildlife. Vraiment bien.
Puis, à la galerie d'art, où on a vu (encore) Butcher Boys par Jane Alexander - magnifique représentation de la déshumanisation de l’apartheid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Butcher_Boys De plus, il y avait une exposition fascinante d’affiches de l’Union soviétique de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
Although we often say that we come to ‘Cape Town’ in the winter, in fact we stay in Gordon’s Bay, about 40 minutes from the centre of town, and rarely go in. Too much traffic, too little parking... But sometimes we decide to partake of a little culture. So Sunday we went to the South Africa Museum to see the World Wildlife Photography exhibition. Really good. Both museums are in Company’s Garden, established in 1852, and for a long time maintained by the East India Company. It has many historic plants and trees – and some of the best fed squirrels on the continent, apparently. (They reminded me of squirrels in Queen’s Park in Toronto, fed by all the university students.)

	Les deux musées sont dans Company’s Garden, créé en 1852, et pendant longtemps entretenus par la Compagnie des Indes. Il y a beaucoup de plantes et d'arbres historiques - et des écureuils parmi les meilleurs nourris du continent, apparemment.
