Like Josephine Baker, who had ‘deux amours’, we have three – Namibia, South Africa, and of course La Belle France.  So we’ve added a few touches to our new kitchen.

Dead Vlei (lac mort) dans le désert namibien, une photo de Harry, de novembre dernier, où on s’est réveillé à 3h30 pour y arriver à l’aube.   Ça valait la peine.

A watercolour by Guy Weir, an Englishman who has been in the Dordogne since the 1970’s, capturing a dying tradition – the travelling still.  Perfectly legal at the time, as farmers were allowed to distill their own fruit.  The government unfortunately realised they were losing tax revenue, and so the right is no longer allowed to be passed on.
