Yandabo – village des potiers.  Pottery village

On s’est arrêté au village de Yandabo, où les gens fabriquent des pots, vendus partout en Birmanie – tous
fabriquésà la main.  Al'vec argile du bord de la rivière, ils façonnent les pots, se servant d’une roue à poterie avec tour à pied, et  cuits sous des couches de paille, au lieu d’un four.  La Révolution Industrielle n’y est pas arrivée.

We stopped at Yandabo, a village where they make pots, sold all over Burma.  The pots are completely handmade: the clay comes from the river, women make the shapes by hand, or by using a foot powered potter’s wheel, and then they are fired under several layers of burning straw, rather than in a kiln.  The Industrial Revolution hasn’t arrived in much of Burma.
